Google has released its latest version of Android dubbed as 4.1 Jelly Bean. With several exciting features and upgrades, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is gradually turning into the smoothest OS in the series up to now. The OS is popular among users for its variety and among Android Developers for its customization. Users have hundreds of Android powered devices to choose from, and developers have numerous ways to tweak the codes to get most out of them. Here are some new features added to Android Jelly Bean.

Off line voice dictations -

The new OS supports offline voice typing. You can do it even without internet connection or in airplane mode. Jelly Bean lets mobile perform all locally executable dictation tasks such as writing, in-phone search etc. The device running on the new OS does not need to access a server for local voice tasks.

Triple Buffering -

Triple Buffering is a technique used in the new OS for smooth graphics. This technique uses three buffers of memory to process pixels even in load conditions. It delivers rich graphic experience to users. All transitions can be presented in a smooth manner.

Near Field Communication

There is too much buzz about Near Field Communication (NFC). New Android Platform also supports this technology. It enables machine to machine communication between two devices. This technology is helpful in development of highly secured contactless payment systems.

Google Now

Jelly Bean also comes with Google Now that is a search app for providing results suitable to user's personal search preferences. It is another evolution in Android application development by Google.

Automatic resizing of widgets

Users were not free to resize a widget previous to Android 4.1. The new OS offers automatic resizing of widgets according to the home screen or available space. Now users can add more apps on the home screen.

Improved notifications Panel

New Android OS comes with new type of notification panel. This new notification panel will show details of notifications on the panel itself. Now user can read a new mail or message on notification panel, instead of getting linked to the relevant app.

However Google has launched Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a laundry list of features, but this article lights on the most useful of them.  Jelly Bean is going to be a big turning point for developers. With improved features, this platform now has nothing less than others. Android is today's major mobile OS with more than 60 percent market share and the version 4.1 is expected to become more popular. Are we going to enter in an Android-only mobile era?
